About
Skyline Dreams is a synthwave artist from the UK. He produces music which takes listeners back to the sounds of 80s movies and tv shows. Lush synths, exaggerated snares and moody basslines. All with a modern twist.
He grew up in the 80s and started producing music on his Amiga 500 in the early 90s, using tracker software such as Protracker. He is also an accomplished drummer, and studied music technology at school and sound engineering at college. He discovered the synthwave genre in the mid 2010s and was immediately hooked, listening to artists such as Gunship, Timecop1983, The Midnight and more. The genre inspired him to start producing again.
He makes use of advances in computer power and the incredible software instruments available today. He uses Ableton Live on a MacBook Pro and software synths such as Diva, TAL-U-NO-LX and the Arturia V Collection. He appreciates the wonderful presets of talented people like Oblivion Sound Lab and The Unfinished, and he is a big fan of Splice. His tracks are mastered by Pete Maher, the UK's top independent mastering engineer.
